Twelve-Five Standard Security Program (TFSSP)

A program is required for operations conducted in the United States, from the United States to a non-U.S. location, including intermediate stops, from a non-U.S. location to the United States including intermediate stops, and from a non-U.S. location to a non-U.S. location. A standard security program, together with any alternate procedures and amendments, is required under 49 CFR 1544.101(d) and (e). Helicopter SMS
A helicopter safety management system (SMS) is not only a good idea but depending on your operation, may be a regulatory requirement. The SMS is a critical component of any operation with a focus on four primary elements; (1) Safety Policy; (2) Safety Risk Management; (3) Safety Assurance; and (4) Safety Promotion. Helicopter operations conducted under 14 CFR Part 91, 120, and part 135 may be required to obtain an SMS—this includes air ambulance operations. ICAO also requires SMS as a mandatory component for many operations.
